Fire safety starts with knowledge - and it's best to start at a young age. This week, we had the opportunity to use our Taktik-Trainer in the fire safety education of a kindergarten. We specially adapted the room configuration so that the large group of children could participate in the best possible way.

Smoke, doors, and safe behavior – explained through play

Of course, working with real flames isn’t possible in such an environment. But thanks to our smoke generator combined with a heat source, we were able to realistically demonstrate how smoke behaves in a building:
Smoke rises – The children could see how the smoke slowly filled the ceiling area and then spread downward.
Closed doors save lives – A key “aha” moment was realizing that a closed door keeps smoke out, while an open one lets it spread freely into other rooms.
Staying low is safer – We showed that the lower part of a smoke-filled room is often the safest escape path.

Realistic simulation without danger

The Taktik-Trainer allowed us to teach the children about fire safety in a playful yet impactful way. Instead of only talking about fire protection in theory, they were able to see for themselves how smoke moves and what that means in an escape situation. Experiences like these leave a lasting impression—especially at a young age.

Of course, we made sure to protect everyone’s privacy, which is why the children’s faces are blurred in the photos. One thing is certain though: the excitement and learning impact were huge!
